P.A.T.H. Groups

What is a P.A.T.H. Group?

The Pursuit of Accountability, Truth and Holiness. High commitment groups of 5-7 men or women meeting together weekly for Bible study, prayer and accountability.

What do they do?

  1. Meaningful fellowship
  2. Recite memory verses
  3. Accountability
  4. Read and study God’s Word
  5. Apply what you’ve learned
  6. Personal challenges
  7. Pray for each other

What are the goals?

  1. Learn to abide in Christ and love God with all your heart, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.
  2. Be accountable for your personal and spiritual growth
  3. Mature as a child of God, spouse and/or parent.
  4. Daily study God’s Word, pray and memorize scripture.
  5. Give to the body of Christ and serve in ministry.
  6. Be able to share your testimony and faith.
  7. Care for the physical temple---exercise, healthy diet, adequate rest.

 

What is the Purpose?

To mature believers to fulfill the Great Commandment:

Mark 12:30-31: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

And the Great Commission:

Matt 28:19-20: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

When do they meet?

Each group determines their own time and place. There may be childcare available for those groups meeting on the SCBC campus depending on their specific time.
