Adult Ministries

Our Mission

The Adult ministries at Santa Cruz Bible Church exist to help the adults of Santa Cruz County develop spiritual maturity by encouraging commitment, enabling growth, and equipping leadership.

Encouraging Commitment

This will be accomplished through the "Equipping 201 - How to Grow" seminar held six to eight times a year in conjunction with the 101, 301, and 401 classes.

Equipping Leadership

This will be accomplished through the development of a teaching team. These teachers would be evaluated and encouraged to grow in their skill in presenting the material outlined above. They would be encouraged to develop apprentice leaders/ teachers to assist them in presenting material and eventually take over the teaching of those classes.

Enabling Growth

This will be accomplished through the Tuesday night classes and periodic seminars. It would also be possible to cover these topics in Small Groups. These classes will fall into three general categories;

Spiritual Foundations - Deepening our understanding of the Bible. These classes focus on key books of the Bible and overviews of Old and New Testaments. A "New Believers" class is also incorporated here.

Spiritual Perspectives - These classes focus on various theological topics such as God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, The Bible, Creation, Salvation, Sanctification, Good and Evil, The Afterlife, The Church, The Second Coming.

Spiritual Skills - Living based upon the practical wisdom of God's Word. These subjects include classes on Prayer, How to Study the Bible, Financial Contentment, Expressing my Worship Through Work, Christian Time Management.
