Marriage & Parenting
SCBC is committed to helping people build healthy home environments
based on Biblical principles. We believe, that in God's
plan, the family is meant to be the place where people get
a taste of His love and truth; where qualities such as faithfulness,
honesty and unconditional love are learned and lived.
The reality of living in a fallen world means that many
people have not experienced these things in their families
and need help and healing. Because of that, SCBC offers
a variety of classes, small group experiences, retreats,
seminars, and tapes to help people strengthen their marriages
and parenting skills. Classes such as: Parenting Teens,
Parenting Young Children, and Fit To Be Tied Premarital
Workshop are offered at different times throughout the year.
Divorce Recovery Workshop
This eight-week seminar is designed to provide helpful information
and resources to assist people dealing with the dissolution
of a marriage. Divorce Recovery is offered twice a year
in the Spring and the Fall. Jim Smoke's book, Growing
Through Divorce, is used as the text in addition to excellent
teaching and small group discussion.
